the joy of missing out (JOMO)

Preview

When you think of the online space, you think of social media. We tend to forget that social media is not the only thing that makes up the entire digital world. Getting ‘unplugged’ does not mean completely disconnecting from the digital world. What I mean is disconnecting from the negativity that comes with the digital world. Whether it be Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, or any other platform that seem to affect your ability to reach your highest potential, aim to eliminate it from your daily routine.

For instance, I love Pinterest. I am on it every single day because it helps nourish my creativity and inspires me to make positive changes in my life. From creating boards of my dream home to making these boards come to life, Pinterest is an online platform that helps keep my creativity in check. That being said, the online world is what we make it to be. It can be healthy when used in a proper and healthy way.

JOMO encourages us to find satisfaction and contentment in our real-life experiences, fostering a healthier balance between our digital and physical worlds. It is about appreciating life's simple pleasures and finding peace in the absence as well as the presence of the digital world.
